Test Drive

Welcome to the test drive for Time Trapped. This is an open forum to test out your characters to see how they would fit into the game and if you might be interested in apping them here. We want you to feel comfortable and, of course, test drive threads can be used as samples on your application to join.

First, a few housekeeping things before we start:

  ∞Apps will be open as of Dec 10th at 12 AM, and will reopen on the first of every month. They will remain open until the 10th of each month before closing.

  ∞Both first and third person prompts are allowed in the test drive. We encourage both. We also encourage making multiple prompt options in your post.

  ∞Finally, you will be allowed to transfer your test drive threads over into the game canon should you apply and be accepted.

  ∞If you have any other questions please feel free to refer to the FAQ or contact the mods directly.

   1. Acclimating to the environment
While Gideon has a part of the area sectioned off for now based on her calculations of where the time anomalies are going to occur the area is still large and confusing. It’s easy for a person to get lost or overwhelmed in this big mish-mosh of a world. Perhaps you are lost, or maybe you are just settling in.


   2. Reach out and touch someone
Gideon has been kind enough to provide you with a way to communicate. Whether that be a device or a simple SIM card. Why not try it out by sending a public message. Of course, you could also be sending it by accident.


   3. Make peace, not war
While LA has become a hodgepodge of different times it has also become a hodgepodge of different areas as well. Exploring the downtown LA brings you to a section of Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately what was once a peaceful protest has grown into a fight between Mogul hordes and peace loving hippies who just want to protest. Local enforcement is, of course, trying to sort out this mess but it seems they might need a bit of outside help.


   4. What's this strange building?
The 'Hall of Justice' stands in a sorry state as nature is trying to overtake it. Vines are crawling up the walls and there is Dimetrodon sunbathing in the courtyard, or what's left of it. Inside, any technology seems to have been destroyed and there is no sign of life. Still, it is a ruin left to be explored and the local archaeological society is willing to pay good money for relics from inside. Be warned that there may still be some rather nasty traps active inside and around the hall. If you happen to be a from the DC world you might see a few familiar faces among the broken statues that once adorned this building.


   5. Let’s dance
The Verdant. A rousing nightclub in 'bad neighborhood' of what was once Starling City circa 2013. There seems to be a wide variety of patrons here tonight, anything from Greek Scholars to some Greasers. What a great place to grab something to drink or maybe cause a little trouble.


   6. Dressing in style
Perhaps you arrived in less than ideal clothing. You may have arrived in no clothing at all. It might just be about time to look through some clothing stores and find what is right for you. Of course, it’s never that easy though. There are pickpockets and thieves all over the streets. You may just become their next victim.

   7. Home for the Holidays
Little old London town is high in festivities right now. It's Christmas and the area surrounding Big Ben is snowy, though it's a bit melty due to the climate in LA. Festive decor and foods for sale circa 1885 in england and emotions are cheery and positive. Take a horse and buggy or attend a christmas party.

Just hope the mongols don't show up. Or Amazons.

[She's about to point out that Ray is a golden retriever taken human form when she thinks about Kara. The girl is sweetness and light all rolled into one with a coating and sugar sprinkles.]

If Kara could be an evil Nazi then yeah, there could totally be an evil doppelganger Ray around somewhere.

[She holds up her hands.]

About five. Three of them weren't the usual group. One of them was a cat meta.

Oh, a cat? Like on a scale from your every meta human, to Gorilla Grodd, how meta are we talking about?

Lets see, a good handful so far. Barry, Caitlin, Thea, Nate, Sara, you, and a boy who is apparently Barry's grandson. I spent most of this afternoon learning about the Flash history from the perspective of someone from a completely different timeline.

More like Thundercats, and don't ask me how I know what Thundercats are. We had Boomerang.

[He didn't even need to ask, she just told him.]

Well, at least that's a handful of our people accounted for. Seems like it's been everyone that was at the wedding or, you know, fought Nazis.

Whoa. Cool. [Felicity he actually watched that show when it first game on. It's been played on so many different platforms since.]

The Nazis could have left a boobytrap but from what I saw, that Oliver was kinda hyperfocused on Anti-Kara. Doesn't quite track for me.

[She shakes her head in agreement. Even an evil Oliver has some similarities to her Oliver.]

With the way things were, I don't think he would have thought of that. Zoom might have though.

Isn't that the Reverse Flash, but somehow with Harrison Well's face again but also from another dimension?

This whole situation with Thawne is getting complicated.

I don't think it was ever going to be easy. I mean, nothing in our lives ever is.

[A pause.]

Let me rephrase that. The situation with Thawne is stupidly ridiculous.

[Another pause, as he looks away for a moment as something clicks for him.]

Bart mentioned something about being 'temporally resistant.'

[She raises a brow at his comment. It makes sense with everything she's heard about the guy.]

Thawn? Yeah, with everything he's been through that actually tracks. He's like a temporal cockroach. Though, I think it's possible that they're more like temporal copies that he's left throughout time.

D'you think that maybe some of the time travel incidents like Flashpoint might have had some effect on what's happened here?

I think it would be stupid to rule out. The temporal ripples, I mean, they stunk, but didn't seem to be as far reaching as they should have been.

Yeah. [He pauses on that, thinking about it.]

How many times has a speedster changed the past?

Think about that Ray. Unless they told us we wouldn't know. So as far as I know just the once.

Yeah, but... Barry specifically. He knew how to do it before he created flash point which means he had to have done it before.

Then Wally...

And then all the stuff Bart told me, which doesn't necessarily mean anything regarding our universe but it seems like it's happened a lot.

Which means this could be in direct correlation to that. Which also makes me wonder if anything that happens here has any bearing on the other realities.

Time could be unraveling, pretty much the worst case scenario.

Gonna try to be more optimistic than that.

Here's the thing about that. If time were unraveling it would make sense for all of you to be here and from the right time, but why me and the others?

It makes just as much sense as any one of us being from another time. The fourth dimension, which governs time? It's like a ribbon with one end being your birth and one end being your death and every other moment inbetween.

Which means that's the dimension which is under flux right now and it's distorting the space around us.

As for why you're here? Any one we know, it makes sense, since you all have connections to someone aboard the wave rider.

Not sure about Bart or the other kid.

Which is where the questions lie, because there's also Kristen who's from Gotham and as far as I know none of us have been there either.

Also, are you actually explaining a temporal theory to me or have you guys established this?

More like voicing my thoughts to segue into what Thea told me, which was that she was stabbed by Ra's, remembers being stabbed, but somehow arrived fully healed. Or somehow chronologically reversed the stab wound while still having memory of it.

[Ray looks apologetic about explaining it to her, but there is a reason he needs the coffee and it's catching up to him.

His brows knit as he ponders this thought further and glances outside. Huh.]

There's a pretty good chance everything here is on it's own timeline and we could find ourselves being thrown further or backwards on our timelines independent of anything else.

So, a pocket dimension outside of all our timelines.

[She knows she's finishing his thought for him. It's something they've always been able to do with one another. She does it with Curtis and Cisco too. Basically the curse of being a genius in a room full of them.]

So basically this could be 'The end of Time' but, you know, real. Which means we'd have to find the original anomaly. Which, so far, are none of us, unless someone altered a fixed point in time. What time is it?

The Dr Who episode? Funny, even while here and spending all my time on a time ship I really didn't think we'd end up in a scenario out of a show I actually watch.

[He glances at his palmer tech watch which he put the sim chip in.]

8:30, I have. But that might be Waverider time.

Didn't you have that whole George Lucas thing?

[She feels like she remembers him telling her about something like that.]

It doesn't have to be my time, we just need to see if it resets. Of course, even if it doesn't, that doesn't mean the theory isn't still valid.
