Test Drive

Welcome to the test drive for Time Trapped. This is an open forum to test out your characters to see how they would fit into the game and if you might be interested in apping them here. We want you to feel comfortable and, of course, test drive threads can be used as samples on your application to join.

First, a few housekeeping things before we start:

  ∞Apps will be open as of Dec 10th at 12 AM, and will reopen on the first of every month. They will remain open until the 10th of each month before closing.

  ∞Both first and third person prompts are allowed in the test drive. We encourage both. We also encourage making multiple prompt options in your post.

  ∞Finally, you will be allowed to transfer your test drive threads over into the game canon should you apply and be accepted.

  ∞If you have any other questions please feel free to refer to the FAQ or contact the mods directly.

Prompts

   1. Acclimating to the environment
While Gideon has a part of the area sectioned off for now based on her calculations of where the time anomalies are going to occur the area is still large and confusing. It’s easy for a person to get lost or overwhelmed in this big mish-mosh of a world. Perhaps you are lost, or maybe you are just settling in.


   2. Reach out and touch someone
Gideon has been kind enough to provide you with a way to communicate. Whether that be a device or a simple SIM card. Why not try it out by sending a public message. Of course, you could also be sending it by accident.


   3. Make peace, not war
While LA has become a hodgepodge of different times it has also become a hodgepodge of different areas as well. Exploring the downtown LA brings you to a section of Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately what was once a peaceful protest has grown into a fight between Mogul hordes and peace loving hippies who just want to protest. Local enforcement is, of course, trying to sort out this mess but it seems they might need a bit of outside help.


   4. What's this strange building?
The 'Hall of Justice' stands in a sorry state as nature is trying to overtake it. Vines are crawling up the walls and there is Dimetrodon sunbathing in the courtyard, or what's left of it. Inside, any technology seems to have been destroyed and there is no sign of life. Still, it is a ruin left to be explored and the local archaeological society is willing to pay good money for relics from inside. Be warned that there may still be some rather nasty traps active inside and around the hall. If you happen to be a from the DC world you might see a few familiar faces among the broken statues that once adorned this building.


   5. Let’s dance
The Verdant. A rousing nightclub in 'bad neighborhood' of what was once Starling City circa 2013. There seems to be a wide variety of patrons here tonight, anything from Greek Scholars to some Greasers. What a great place to grab something to drink or maybe cause a little trouble.


   6. Dressing in style
Perhaps you arrived in less than ideal clothing. You may have arrived in no clothing at all. It might just be about time to look through some clothing stores and find what is right for you. Of course, it’s never that easy though. There are pickpockets and thieves all over the streets. You may just become their next victim.

   7. Home for the Holidays
Little old London town is high in festivities right now. It's Christmas and the area surrounding Big Ben is snowy, though it's a bit melty due to the climate in LA. Festive decor and foods for sale circa 1885 in england and emotions are cheery and positive. Take a horse and buggy or attend a christmas party.

Just hope the mongols don't show up. Or Amazons.

   8. Wild Card. Go nuts.

[She bites back a quip that he might not have any left, but that's mean. Like, actually literally mean of her to say. So she won't. Ray is, after all, the third (maybe second) most prideful man she's ever had the privilege to know. Even if he's managed to learn humility. Being a Legend has been really good for him.] Can you get big again?

[Being part of a team'll do that to you. Also the whole sequence of events that lead him to joining the legends as well, was a learning curve for him.]

I think she hit me with an EMP, and whatever I know about these powers I have now, they're not working.

[Well, that made sense. The suit would be completely powerless after an EMP blast. But it also clearly wasn't over a large enough area that it affected her. Both important things to note. Gideon was using EMPs, so apparently, it wasn't her goal to physically hurt anyone - at least not Ray, and her area of effect was, for now, limited.] So no getting bigger, or will you get bigger once you're out of the suit? [She doesn't know the protocol for this. Does he grow when the suit comes off, does he stay small? Is she going to have to go to the hobby store and get him a dollhouse, or the pet store and get him one of those rodent carriers?]

[Ray looks up at her. Really, Felicity? Don't laugh. He takes his helmet off. ]

I guess I'll find out once I get out of it.

[She's trying not to, she's really trying not to, but he's so tiny and she's pretty sure the only thing making it so she can hear him is the fact that he has to shout. So, so tiny, it's the tiniest of Rays.] So? Can you even get out of it if it's completely powered down? [Be serious Felicity. This is a very serious matter full of very serious things. Full of serious - oh come on! Her best friend is GI Joe sized. This is hilarious.]

Sure, just takes a minute or two.

[No, Felicity, stop. Bad best friend.

He starts removing the suit and pulls it off of himself after unlatching all the larger parts, then putting the parts back together so they stay a unit.

He then tries to regrow. What he tried before, isn't working.]

I think I'm stuck.

[Oh my god Ray! Why do you do this to her? You don't want her to laugh and then you manage to get yourself stuck action figure size. It's more then she can take and she blurts out a laugh before stuffing it with her hand. This isn't funny. It's a very serious situation, he's, stuck in. Of course, the thought makes her laugh again.] So. Now what? [The question is in between attempts not to laugh.]

Now? [He will only grant you this laughter because you're his friend. He just breezes and gives a light sigh.]

I wait til I can unshrink again. And rest.

Right, so ... [Still trying not to giggle here.] Cat carrier?

Maybe if I ever go to the darkside. [Can't he just shrink smaller than the bars and get out, even then?] How about your pocket for now?

Alright, just don't wiggle, it'll be weird.

As long as you don't forget I'm in there either.

[He is still leaning against her finger, after having sat down again. It's been an interesting day.]

Afraid I'm gonna squish you?

[She wouldn't. That would be rude and really messy.]

Nah, you wouldn't do that.

But who knows, someone might put a computer in front of you. [He's sure is sassing her]

[She sees your sas boy and will raise you threats.]

Well, if that happens I guess you'll learn what it feels like to be squished.

How would that be my fault? [A quip. Well okay then.]

You know I trust you.

[The smile she offers is genuine. It's always been hard to believe that she's trusted. That she's believed in. She doesn't have superpowers and she's not a hero like everyone else, but of all the people she questions that trust they may have in her, Ray isn't one of them.] I know. [Ray is ... a rock. Her best friend forever and always through anything that happens to them. Even millions of years away they still talk, still exchange stories and act like they've never missed a beat with one another. It's comforting. Especially now that she's been unmoored from Oliver by a three-year difference and all the secrets that Sara wants her to keep. She can't keep them. She's not strong like Sara or as determined to keep the lies and secrets from him. She can't, she knows what it would do to him. Ray knows that too, or at least he'd understand that about the two of them. He's been there. He's seen what a lot of other people haven't. He's seen them.]

[Ray didn't know he was a rock. It was the sort of thing, that when he lost his confidence, he assumed people that were 'stronger' than him were seen as. Maybe it was that time with Savage, or with Kendra that he began to heal and regain some of that self confidence that he'd lost. At least confidence in himself, not himself as the ATOM, which oddly he felt were two different things.

He smiles back at her, just as genuine. He'd be lying if he said that some part of him didn't still love her, but he knew where he stood on that and he was comfortable with the relationship they had now.

Really, if anyone was going to put him in their pocket and protect him in this state, he could name nobody he trusted more.]

Put the suit in the other pocket, would you?

[She nods, carefully collecting the suit with her free hand and putting it in her pocket. Careful not to harm it in any way. She knew what the ATOM suit meant to Ray. How hard he'd worked to achieve it and how much he'd lost by using it the way he did. Next was Ray, carefully into the opposite pocket.] You comfortable in there? [She peeks in.]

[Ray waves at her.]

It's pretty cozy!

[Felicity, he knows you better than most people know you. You are a genuinely cuddly person and he really can't think about that or he'll have regrettable thoughts.

But still.

He has an amusing expression on his face as that occurs to him.]

[She is. She is a cuddly person. She's a hugger, a toucher, a comforter. She'd never been good at being otherwise. His face, however, confuses her. Did she say something funny?] What?
