Test Drive

Welcome to the test drive for Time Trapped. This is an open forum to test out your characters to see how they would fit into the game and if you might be interested in apping them here. We want you to feel comfortable and, of course, test drive threads can be used as samples on your application to join.

First, a few housekeeping things before we start:

  ∞Apps will be open as of Dec 10th at 12 AM, and will reopen on the first of every month. They will remain open until the 10th of each month before closing.

  ∞Both first and third person prompts are allowed in the test drive. We encourage both. We also encourage making multiple prompt options in your post.

  ∞Finally, you will be allowed to transfer your test drive threads over into the game canon should you apply and be accepted.

  ∞If you have any other questions please feel free to refer to the FAQ or contact the mods directly.

Prompts

   1. Acclimating to the environment
While Gideon has a part of the area sectioned off for now based on her calculations of where the time anomalies are going to occur the area is still large and confusing. It’s easy for a person to get lost or overwhelmed in this big mish-mosh of a world. Perhaps you are lost, or maybe you are just settling in.


   2. Reach out and touch someone
Gideon has been kind enough to provide you with a way to communicate. Whether that be a device or a simple SIM card. Why not try it out by sending a public message. Of course, you could also be sending it by accident.


   3. Make peace, not war
While LA has become a hodgepodge of different times it has also become a hodgepodge of different areas as well. Exploring the downtown LA brings you to a section of Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately what was once a peaceful protest has grown into a fight between Mogul hordes and peace loving hippies who just want to protest. Local enforcement is, of course, trying to sort out this mess but it seems they might need a bit of outside help.


   4. What's this strange building?
The 'Hall of Justice' stands in a sorry state as nature is trying to overtake it. Vines are crawling up the walls and there is Dimetrodon sunbathing in the courtyard, or what's left of it. Inside, any technology seems to have been destroyed and there is no sign of life. Still, it is a ruin left to be explored and the local archaeological society is willing to pay good money for relics from inside. Be warned that there may still be some rather nasty traps active inside and around the hall. If you happen to be a from the DC world you might see a few familiar faces among the broken statues that once adorned this building.


   5. Let’s dance
The Verdant. A rousing nightclub in 'bad neighborhood' of what was once Starling City circa 2013. There seems to be a wide variety of patrons here tonight, anything from Greek Scholars to some Greasers. What a great place to grab something to drink or maybe cause a little trouble.


   6. Dressing in style
Perhaps you arrived in less than ideal clothing. You may have arrived in no clothing at all. It might just be about time to look through some clothing stores and find what is right for you. Of course, it’s never that easy though. There are pickpockets and thieves all over the streets. You may just become their next victim.

   7. Home for the Holidays
Little old London town is high in festivities right now. It's Christmas and the area surrounding Big Ben is snowy, though it's a bit melty due to the climate in LA. Festive decor and foods for sale circa 1885 in england and emotions are cheery and positive. Take a horse and buggy or attend a christmas party.

Just hope the mongols don't show up. Or Amazons.

[Best fried will tease you relentlessly if he has the chance. They are equals on all things, remember. Well maybe not the hacking. They've just distributed their skill points differently. ]

[She can't help the smirk that crosses her face. She resist's the urge to tell him that her last name is actually Queen now. It's still a bit weird, honestly.]

I'm pretty sure I can win. What have you got on me, after all?

I'll think of something. Going to have to figure out how to outpace you on your arsenal.

[He hasn't told her of Gertrude, and will not. He knows what power that could give her.]

[He should. It's not like she can point to every dinosaur and ask him if it's his girlfriend. Oh wait, she can.]

Good luck with that. Now, are we breaking into the Waverider or not?

Yeah, lets do it.

[He leads the way over there, and once there, he ducks aside to get into his suit and rejoins his companion.]

Alright. Here goes nothing.

[He shrinks down and activates his thrusters before heading towards the ship to get inside.]

[She sits down nearby, trying to see if she can get any readings off the Waverider.]

I can't get anything Ray.

[He goes in through the duct that was being used to dispense phones and keys and such. He gets small, about no smaller than a tack before he heads up into the circuits.

Thats when he starts to see the electrical arcs inside. Almost immedietly he gets shocked by static and stunned, before he feels a gust of air that blew him out. He unshrinks by a sall ammount before he's struck by something else which sends him flying. Some kind of pulse. Felicity can probably see the tiny little man being flung to the ground. ]

[It's surreal, seeing an action figure sized man get thrown out of a shaft in the ship he lives in. At least she knows he doesn't have any broken bones thanks to the size thing. Just broken ego and broken pride. Actually, they might be worse for Ray then bones. She makes her way over, the tablet still in hand and crouches down next to him, scooping him up in her hands.] You okay?

[Yeah, being small made it far easier to get out of a tight situation, plus he had his armor to take most of the blow. Still, it's more than his ego that's bruised and he is a little slow to bring himself around.]

Seriously, Gideon?

[He pushes himself up to lean on a back arm, one knee bent as it seems he's a bit more stiff than he ought to be. Suit's down. Damn.]

I am so, so glad you didn't make a bet with me just now...

]Clearly, he's fine. More or less. Even though she knows he'd make light of any given situation, even a life-threatening one, he seems more stiff than bleeding or hiding internal injuries. She's seen enough of her team's to know.] So I guess that's a no on getting into Gideon's intake.

[Oh my god Felicity. He snorts and sighs, Using one of his fingers to pull himself up.]

Yeah, give me a sec. That was kinda rough. [Heh. Oh jeez.]

[Her eyes go wide at the realization of how what she said could be taken, and of course Ray catches it. Just once she'd love to stick her foot in her mouth and have no one notice. Is that so much to ask?] Any broken bones or anything? [Thankfully it's a lot harder to break bones of tiny things when they fall, but just in case it's important to check.]

Don't think so. My pride is hurt more, as usual.

But I'm gonna feel it in the morning.

[She bites back a quip that he might not have any left, but that's mean. Like, actually literally mean of her to say. So she won't. Ray is, after all, the third (maybe second) most prideful man she's ever had the privilege to know. Even if he's managed to learn humility. Being a Legend has been really good for him.] Can you get big again?

[Being part of a team'll do that to you. Also the whole sequence of events that lead him to joining the legends as well, was a learning curve for him.]

I think she hit me with an EMP, and whatever I know about these powers I have now, they're not working.

[Well, that made sense. The suit would be completely powerless after an EMP blast. But it also clearly wasn't over a large enough area that it affected her. Both important things to note. Gideon was using EMPs, so apparently, it wasn't her goal to physically hurt anyone - at least not Ray, and her area of effect was, for now, limited.] So no getting bigger, or will you get bigger once you're out of the suit? [She doesn't know the protocol for this. Does he grow when the suit comes off, does he stay small? Is she going to have to go to the hobby store and get him a dollhouse, or the pet store and get him one of those rodent carriers?]

[Ray looks up at her. Really, Felicity? Don't laugh. He takes his helmet off. ]

I guess I'll find out once I get out of it.

[She's trying not to, she's really trying not to, but he's so tiny and she's pretty sure the only thing making it so she can hear him is the fact that he has to shout. So, so tiny, it's the tiniest of Rays.] So? Can you even get out of it if it's completely powered down? [Be serious Felicity. This is a very serious matter full of very serious things. Full of serious - oh come on! Her best friend is GI Joe sized. This is hilarious.]

Sure, just takes a minute or two.

[No, Felicity, stop. Bad best friend.

He starts removing the suit and pulls it off of himself after unlatching all the larger parts, then putting the parts back together so they stay a unit.

He then tries to regrow. What he tried before, isn't working.]

I think I'm stuck.

[Oh my god Ray! Why do you do this to her? You don't want her to laugh and then you manage to get yourself stuck action figure size. It's more then she can take and she blurts out a laugh before stuffing it with her hand. This isn't funny. It's a very serious situation, he's, stuck in. Of course, the thought makes her laugh again.] So. Now what? [The question is in between attempts not to laugh.]

Now? [He will only grant you this laughter because you're his friend. He just breezes and gives a light sigh.]

I wait til I can unshrink again. And rest.

Right, so ... [Still trying not to giggle here.] Cat carrier?
