Test Drive; December
Test Drive
Welcome to the test drive for Time Trapped. This is an open forum to test out your characters to see how they would fit into the game and if you might be interested in apping them here. We want you to feel comfortable and, of course, test drive threads can be used as samples on your application to join.
First, a few housekeeping things before we start:
∞Apps will be open as of Dec 10th at 12 AM, and will reopen on the first of every month. They will remain open until the 10th of each month before closing.
∞Both first and third person prompts are allowed in the test drive. We encourage both. We also encourage making multiple prompt options in your post.
∞Finally, you will be allowed to transfer your test drive threads over into the game canon should you apply and be accepted.
∞If you have any other questions please feel free to refer to the FAQ or contact the mods directly.
Aside from that, happy test driving.
Instructions:

1. Acclimating to the environment
While Gideon has a part of the area sectioned off for now based on her calculations of where the time anomalies are going to occur the area is still large and confusing. It’s easy for a person to get lost or overwhelmed in this big mish-mosh of a world. Perhaps you are lost, or maybe you are just settling in.
2. Reach out and touch someone
Gideon has been kind enough to provide you with a way to communicate. Whether that be a device or a simple SIM card. Why not try it out by sending a public message. Of course, you could also be sending it by accident.
3. Make peace, not war
While LA has become a hodgepodge of different times it has also become a hodgepodge of different areas as well. Exploring the downtown LA brings you to a section of Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately what was once a peaceful protest has grown into a fight between Mogul hordes and peace loving hippies who just want to protest. Local enforcement is, of course, trying to sort out this mess but it seems they might need a bit of outside help.
4. What's this strange building?
The 'Hall of Justice' stands in a sorry state as nature is trying to overtake it. Vines are crawling up the walls and there is Dimetrodon sunbathing in the courtyard, or what's left of it. Inside, any technology seems to have been destroyed and there is no sign of life. Still, it is a ruin left to be explored and the local archaeological society is willing to pay good money for relics from inside. Be warned that there may still be some rather nasty traps active inside and around the hall. If you happen to be a from the DC world you might see a few familiar faces among the broken statues that once adorned this building.
5. Let’s dance
The Verdant. A rousing nightclub in 'bad neighborhood' of what was once Starling City circa 2013. There seems to be a wide variety of patrons here tonight, anything from Greek Scholars to some Greasers. What a great place to grab something to drink or maybe cause a little trouble.
6. Dressing in style
Perhaps you arrived in less than ideal clothing. You may have arrived in no clothing at all. It might just be about time to look through some clothing stores and find what is right for you. Of course, it’s never that easy though. There are pickpockets and thieves all over the streets. You may just become their next victim.
7. Home for the Holidays
Little old London town is high in festivities right now. It's Christmas and the area surrounding Big Ben is snowy, though it's a bit melty due to the climate in LA. Festive decor and foods for sale circa 1885 in england and emotions are cheery and positive. Take a horse and buggy or attend a christmas party.
Just hope the mongols don't show up. Or Amazons.
8. Wild Card. Go nuts.

"Also, what's your favorite thing to do with your powers? Or just favorites in general."
no subject
"Sooner or later you end up there or the Rogue Isles. Which is basically Evil Island Incorperated. Run by an evil demigod who has spider legs growin' out of his back. He can take down full teams all on his own, I hear." Including ones where they have other heroes on board that are fighting at his level.
At the next question he taps his fingers a bit, not sure how to answer it.
"Nobody's ever asked that." He says, then thinks about it some more. "I guess I like roof running, and catching myself in shadows when I fall, then using the inertia to fling myself back up."
no subject
"I wonder how we'd match up in a race after dark..."
no subject
"It'd be fun. But I still think I'd lose."
no subject
A pause, and he shrugged. "We can't all be Superman. I do this because I can't live with myself if I don't do what I can. Because weekends with my friends in Titans Tower is more like home than anywhere else. Not to mention when you're different, people will judge. Putting on a uniform, being seen, standing for something can let you control the narrative instead of being controlled by it."

more fun if we fought eachother." He pauses, maybe that's not the best way to put it?
"For fun, tho." He adds to the end, then listens to what Bart has to say, briefly glancing around as he says it.
"Hey, you wanna get outta here?" He says, while he mulls over what he says. It's a cool place and all but he'd rather go out and stretch his legs now.
"I see what you're saying but I never got that kinda thing back home. I got tossed around to teams a few times but never a 'home'."
no subject
A pause. "Can you carry someone else while you're doing the traveling thing?"
He left the home thing, because it sucked to be alone. He remembered being passed around like an inconvenience, but he didn't think saying so would help.
no subject
"So long as there's enough shadow to maneuver around in. Gotten trapped in em a few times."
Not pleasant. Dropping into one, he reaches out for Bart to grab onto so he can pull him down too.
no subject
"I can understand that. Had a few odd trips like that with other powers. Raven's soul-self is a strange plan."
no subject
He doesn't let go of the speedster before he senses a direction he wants to go and starts moving swiftly in that direction.
"Raven? Well, I wouldn't know about what a soul self is, but I know this is pretty safe.
Least it is now. When I first got it I couldn't control it at all. I guess if I ever lost control of my powers you wouldn't want to come down here."
no subject
He looked pensive, just riding along.
"Are you the only one who can access this place?"
no subject
Then you remember there's probably a plumber themed superhero who doesn't call himself Mario.
"I would think so. Unless more people from my world ever shows up." Ghost Widow would be on the high end of threats.
no subject
no subject
"What if this universe dies? I heard people talking about it in my world that it was possible."
no subject
no subject
"We could be totally screwed."
no subject
He shook his head. "I don't think this is it, the AI made sense to what I know about the nature of time and events. This is a merging point for some reason, a crossroads. Luckily, most people don't notice when the world shifts like this, they won't remember anything's ever been different."
no subject
"That's so confusing. At least one of us knows what's goin' on. But that doesn't explain what it's happening at all." Also it's still entirely possible that that omen the Mender's spoke about was true. But then he only knew what Prometheus told him when he inquired about becoming an incarnate, which was ultimately shot down by Hellion.
no subject
"No way..."
no subject
"What is it?" Then he looks in the direction that Bart is looking.
"Its a giant T."
no subject
It takes everything in him not to just run over there and look, try and see what's there, if anyone from home...
"That's where my friends and I spend our weekends, sometimes longer."
no subject
"C'mon!" He yells back.
no subject
no subject
"Wouldn't know! We don't got a place like that at home!" He slows a couple hundred feet from the tower, waiting for Bart to give him a signal, after he runs on ahead anyway. The building is very new, like it's been freshly built. Some of the rooms aren't even finished yet.
no subject
He came back, and it's obvious he's a little shaken, torn by something so close to familiar. "There should be a statue out front. The first Teen Titans, Robin, Speedy, Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Wonder Girl. Not me, my cousin had the name before I took it up. He kinda outgrew it."
