Test Drive

Welcome to the test drive for Time Trapped. This is an open forum to test out your characters to see how they would fit into the game and if you might be interested in apping them here. We want you to feel comfortable and, of course, test drive threads can be used as samples on your application to join.

First, a few housekeeping things before we start:

  ∞Apps will be open as of Dec 10th at 12 AM, and will reopen on the first of every month. They will remain open until the 10th of each month before closing.

  ∞Both first and third person prompts are allowed in the test drive. We encourage both. We also encourage making multiple prompt options in your post.

  ∞Finally, you will be allowed to transfer your test drive threads over into the game canon should you apply and be accepted.

  ∞If you have any other questions please feel free to refer to the FAQ or contact the mods directly.

Prompts

   1. Acclimating to the environment
While Gideon has a part of the area sectioned off for now based on her calculations of where the time anomalies are going to occur the area is still large and confusing. It’s easy for a person to get lost or overwhelmed in this big mish-mosh of a world. Perhaps you are lost, or maybe you are just settling in.


   2. Reach out and touch someone
Gideon has been kind enough to provide you with a way to communicate. Whether that be a device or a simple SIM card. Why not try it out by sending a public message. Of course, you could also be sending it by accident.


   3. Make peace, not war
While LA has become a hodgepodge of different times it has also become a hodgepodge of different areas as well. Exploring the downtown LA brings you to a section of Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately what was once a peaceful protest has grown into a fight between Mogul hordes and peace loving hippies who just want to protest. Local enforcement is, of course, trying to sort out this mess but it seems they might need a bit of outside help.


   4. What's this strange building?
The 'Hall of Justice' stands in a sorry state as nature is trying to overtake it. Vines are crawling up the walls and there is Dimetrodon sunbathing in the courtyard, or what's left of it. Inside, any technology seems to have been destroyed and there is no sign of life. Still, it is a ruin left to be explored and the local archaeological society is willing to pay good money for relics from inside. Be warned that there may still be some rather nasty traps active inside and around the hall. If you happen to be a from the DC world you might see a few familiar faces among the broken statues that once adorned this building.


   5. Let’s dance
The Verdant. A rousing nightclub in 'bad neighborhood' of what was once Starling City circa 2013. There seems to be a wide variety of patrons here tonight, anything from Greek Scholars to some Greasers. What a great place to grab something to drink or maybe cause a little trouble.


   6. Dressing in style
Perhaps you arrived in less than ideal clothing. You may have arrived in no clothing at all. It might just be about time to look through some clothing stores and find what is right for you. Of course, it’s never that easy though. There are pickpockets and thieves all over the streets. You may just become their next victim.

   7. Home for the Holidays
Little old London town is high in festivities right now. It's Christmas and the area surrounding Big Ben is snowy, though it's a bit melty due to the climate in LA. Festive decor and foods for sale circa 1885 in england and emotions are cheery and positive. Take a horse and buggy or attend a christmas party.

Just hope the mongols don't show up. Or Amazons.

   8. Wild Card. Go nuts.

Oh well, that was challenging. Had to admit it that he wasn't exactly going for stealth, since that's usually what he does when he wants to hurt someone. Instead he's playing the boisterous game. "Bart uses Double Team!" Okay he likes Pokemon. His eyes go back to the ground, grying to track Bart by his shadow, which is where he charges at whenever he sees it.

"Oh, right, the reckless endangerment thing," Bart said, chuckling. "There's always adults around. Although I'm not sure Snapper really counted."

He paused. "You mentioned a team, but I didn't know the names. I don't think there's anyone calling themselves Legends back home. Sounds like some prank Booster Gold would try to sell people on."

Oooh! I didn't think about the future. I wonder if I could do DNA tracking.

[There's a pause before her next words sound defeated.]

That would only work on known arrivals. If it were - Oh, right, Hi!

[She may have completely forgotten you were talking to her when you mentioned the 31st century.]

Right, Rip, red hair. Wally would look horrible with red hair, and could he have done it by accident?

"Can't say I've met anyone named Booster Gold. Is that really what he calls himself?" Booster isn't even here and he's being mocked and Ray has no idea who he is or why he deserves it, but he sounds like he deserves it.

"I suppose that does make it a little better." Here's a line up of the rogues. Mirror Master sure did get a costume upgrade. He wonders if this is the same one he's heard about?

"Yeah, we're the Legends. We're basically the heroes who don't really fit in anywhere else and are trying to fix this whole timey wimey anachronism stuff." He does not have the same delivery as David Tennant but he sure is quoting him.

"Actually, I'm more of a fan of Gust," Bart retorts, whipping up a small windstream to try to send the cat into the air.

[She doesn't have to look directly at the training area, but she knows he's there. She knows this whole basement like the back of her hand and could recount everything that's happened here. Everything that's happened on the table (except the times that she wasn't actually here ... or when Oliver was with Sara and they were living down here). It was her home for what felt like so long and now it was here.

Even the music blaring and the movement of dancing felt nostalgic.



Pushing the feeling of being a ghost in the wrong haunted house down, she looks through the pictures that he was going through. They're all old resonance from missions. They feel like so long ago. Such a different time in everyone's lives. All of this felt like some kind of time capsule that she shouldn't have opened. They were all past this. She was, at least.

She begins the shutdown sequence, glancing up to look at the reflective eyes in the darkness.]

What were you looking for down here anyway?

Bart can't help looking at the Rogues with a shiver, because he remembers that part of being adult far too clearly.

"Sorry, I'm not going back to the future, McFly," he said, dripping with sarcasm. "So who do you work with, exactly? I wonder if I know of them."

[Good to see she's as energetic and dedicated as always.]

I think that Bart implied that it was natural. Anyway that's basically the situation.

In the air he goes, with little control over where he goes, but really, all cats land on their feet. At least any cat who knows what he's doing. He turns his body towards the wall of the tower and grabbed onto the ledge, then he lept off into another shadow. "Shadow sneak!" He shouts when he comes out behind Bart to pounce at him again.

[Keep up Ray. Her line of thought has no straight lines.]

Could Rip have done something by accident -

[What was he looking for? Nothing. He squint slightly at her and tilts his head.] I just found it, that's all. Didn't know anybody was gonna come here. [He might even apologize for shooting off a few arrows, or trying. One of the bows was left on the table in the middle of the room.]

Bart didn't put enough oomph behind it that he couldn't expect Shadow to land safely, because this was supposed to be fun.

And it's also why he doesn't dodge this time, instead trying for a simple throw to use all that momentum and redirect it.

It's still weird. People who are almost like what you remember, but not. Not that I really know Grandpa Barry, beyond the usual stuff.

No divorces. Who wants to lose their lightning rod?

[Her eyes close lightly as she lets out a heavy sigh. So it's a relic just like everything else here. Just pulled out of some point in time. Clearly before Verdant was compromised.

Before Ra's and Ivy Town. Before the Legends and Damien Darkh.

She notices the out of place bow and picks it up, carefully putting it with the rest of them and resting her hand on it. Then she tilts her head, looking out into the reflective eyes.]

Depending on who's here I'm probably the best person to have.

[She doesn't even want to know how angry Oliver would have been to find some random person in here.]

You can come out you know. I'm not gonna bite.

Maybe? Who else have you met?

[A pause.]

Besides Ray because you had to be the one who said Wally was a redhead. Yeah, also not a good look.

Um, mostly just him.

Yeah, that would be me, and my cousin is a redhead. Just like my grandfather is blond, and they both have blue eyes. Although if the holograms in the museum were anything to go by, I can sorta see why someone might say that.

Except Wally would be your great, uncle, wouldn't he? I mean he's Iris's brother.

[Barry, your family is getting more confusing by the minute. She's seriously glad he was already in love with Iris when they met. Otherwise, this might have been her super confusing weird time mixed up family.

Clearly this is another time thing. Because as I said, he's my cousin. Iris's nephew. Current Flash, except that Grandpa's back in the suit again.

But then, I can't really complain when there's a new Impulse, too, even if Wally will never forgive me for it.

Outside of a few easily missed shards Thea's gotten most of the glass out of her hair and clothes. And beyond the covered in blood and bruises along with panic factor she was in one piece and not bleeding at least? "Hey Felicity." her voice still shaky with panic but at least not in full blown meltdown?

She offers the other girl a shaky smile. This is honestly one of the most surreal situations she's ever been in. Thea, their Thea who she's been through so much with is sitting here covered in her own blood because of a situation that Malcolm Merlyn put her in three years ago. Logically, Felicity knows that she doesn't know anything about the last three years. About her dying and Oliver giving his soul up to bring her back to life. She doesn't know about them leaving or about Damion Darhk, or Prometheus.

The realization of all the horrible things that they've been through that this Thea doesn't know about causes her to pull the other girl in. Lingering glass and blood be damned. The next three years are going to need so, so much hugging.
