Test Drive

Welcome to the test drive for Time Trapped. This is an open forum to test out your characters to see how they would fit into the game and if you might be interested in apping them here. We want you to feel comfortable and, of course, test drive threads can be used as samples on your application to join.

First, a few housekeeping things before we start:

  ∞Apps will be open as of Dec 10th at 12 AM, and will reopen on the first of every month. They will remain open until the 10th of each month before closing.

  ∞Both first and third person prompts are allowed in the test drive. We encourage both. We also encourage making multiple prompt options in your post.

  ∞Finally, you will be allowed to transfer your test drive threads over into the game canon should you apply and be accepted.

  ∞If you have any other questions please feel free to refer to the FAQ or contact the mods directly.

Prompts

   1. Acclimating to the environment
While Gideon has a part of the area sectioned off for now based on her calculations of where the time anomalies are going to occur the area is still large and confusing. It’s easy for a person to get lost or overwhelmed in this big mish-mosh of a world. Perhaps you are lost, or maybe you are just settling in.


   2. Reach out and touch someone
Gideon has been kind enough to provide you with a way to communicate. Whether that be a device or a simple SIM card. Why not try it out by sending a public message. Of course, you could also be sending it by accident.


   3. Make peace, not war
While LA has become a hodgepodge of different times it has also become a hodgepodge of different areas as well. Exploring the downtown LA brings you to a section of Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately what was once a peaceful protest has grown into a fight between Mogul hordes and peace loving hippies who just want to protest. Local enforcement is, of course, trying to sort out this mess but it seems they might need a bit of outside help.


   4. What's this strange building?
The 'Hall of Justice' stands in a sorry state as nature is trying to overtake it. Vines are crawling up the walls and there is Dimetrodon sunbathing in the courtyard, or what's left of it. Inside, any technology seems to have been destroyed and there is no sign of life. Still, it is a ruin left to be explored and the local archaeological society is willing to pay good money for relics from inside. Be warned that there may still be some rather nasty traps active inside and around the hall. If you happen to be a from the DC world you might see a few familiar faces among the broken statues that once adorned this building.


   5. Let’s dance
The Verdant. A rousing nightclub in 'bad neighborhood' of what was once Starling City circa 2013. There seems to be a wide variety of patrons here tonight, anything from Greek Scholars to some Greasers. What a great place to grab something to drink or maybe cause a little trouble.


   6. Dressing in style
Perhaps you arrived in less than ideal clothing. You may have arrived in no clothing at all. It might just be about time to look through some clothing stores and find what is right for you. Of course, it’s never that easy though. There are pickpockets and thieves all over the streets. You may just become their next victim.

   7. Home for the Holidays
Little old London town is high in festivities right now. It's Christmas and the area surrounding Big Ben is snowy, though it's a bit melty due to the climate in LA. Festive decor and foods for sale circa 1885 in england and emotions are cheery and positive. Take a horse and buggy or attend a christmas party.

Just hope the mongols don't show up. Or Amazons.

Oh god, that was so long ago and she doesn't know what happened. What does she even say to that?

"Are you ... cut anywhere? I mean you sound totally fine, but ... are you?" She really wants a yes from this. No one should sound this fine while they're bleeding out.

"I'm not bleeding if that's what you mean? Just covered in enough blood and glass to stock a small army." as another shard hits the ground.

"So, not bleeding, but shedding glass?" That is literally so weird.

"More like picking shards out."

"Still creepy." But at least she has a path to follow. A creepy path that she's really glad Oliver isn't here to be dealing with this.

"Just follow the glass" Thea was on the verge of a fresh panic wave and its showing in her voice. She's trying to stay at least semi calm but between the crash landing post stabbing and her nerves its not easy.

Felicity can hear the ever-growing panic in Thea's voice and really, she has every reason to be panicked. Felicity would be way more panicked if she were in that situation, but Thea's a strong woman.

"It's gonna be okay, just concentrate on my voice. I promise I'll be there soon." There's a pause as she finds what was probably the ... impact point? She's not really sure she wants to think about that right now.

"Hey, why don't I tell you a story?" Aaaand now she's going to have to make something up or make something true sound like it's made up or something.

"Keep me talking, its worked before." since while these panic moments are rare they have been known to be nasty a la her being in withdrawl only a few years ago. For now since most of the glass was out Thea's slumped against a wall trying to level out her breathing via a trick Oliver taught her.

"It's gonna be okay Thea, I promise." She pauses, but the crunching of gravel is clear so she's still there. The trail seems to be getting smaller actually, and she wonders if maybe she's getting closer. "Why don't you tell me about something that made you really happy. I'm sure I'll be there before you finish."

While trying to stay at least semi calm and catch her breath it was an easy decision,"Besides you guys and family its Roy, no contest." since the man known as Arsenal would always have a key to her heart at least on some level. As memories poured out she was starting to level out and sound a lot less paniced.

Felicity can't help smiling at Thea's words, and she sounds less like she might be freaking out right now. From one professional freak outter to another that is. "This is going to sound weird, but talk to me about Roy, okay?" Yay for those mandatory psychology classes back in college.

"Ok." as Thea talks about Roy she's using several of the tricks Oliver's taught her over the last couple of years to somehow catch her breath and level out enough so she won't pass out. Little by little she's calming down enough to not make things any worse.

She can't help smiling at how Thea talks about Roy. She hopes they still see each other, but it wouldn't really be living in hiding if she asked Thea about it. Besides, now wouldn't be the time to do so.

Following the trail, she manages to find the other girl and crouches down next to her. "Hey." She offers a small smile and really wants to pull her into a hug right now. She's not sure if Thea got all the glass though.

Outside of a few easily missed shards Thea's gotten most of the glass out of her hair and clothes. And beyond the covered in blood and bruises along with panic factor she was in one piece and not bleeding at least? "Hey Felicity." her voice still shaky with panic but at least not in full blown meltdown?

She offers the other girl a shaky smile. This is honestly one of the most surreal situations she's ever been in. Thea, their Thea who she's been through so much with is sitting here covered in her own blood because of a situation that Malcolm Merlyn put her in three years ago. Logically, Felicity knows that she doesn't know anything about the last three years. About her dying and Oliver giving his soul up to bring her back to life. She doesn't know about them leaving or about Damion Darhk, or Prometheus.

The realization of all the horrible things that they've been through that this Thea doesn't know about causes her to pull the other girl in. Lingering glass and blood be damned. The next three years are going to need so, so much hugging.
