Test Drive

Welcome to the test drive for Time Trapped. This is an open forum to test out your characters to see how they would fit into the game and if you might be interested in apping them here. We want you to feel comfortable and, of course, test drive threads can be used as samples on your application to join.

First, a few housekeeping things before we start:

  ∞Apps will be open as of Dec 10th at 12 AM, and will reopen on the first of every month. They will remain open until the 10th of each month before closing.

  ∞Both first and third person prompts are allowed in the test drive. We encourage both. We also encourage making multiple prompt options in your post.

  ∞Finally, you will be allowed to transfer your test drive threads over into the game canon should you apply and be accepted.

  ∞If you have any other questions please feel free to refer to the FAQ or contact the mods directly.

Prompts

   1. Acclimating to the environment
While Gideon has a part of the area sectioned off for now based on her calculations of where the time anomalies are going to occur the area is still large and confusing. It’s easy for a person to get lost or overwhelmed in this big mish-mosh of a world. Perhaps you are lost, or maybe you are just settling in.


   2. Reach out and touch someone
Gideon has been kind enough to provide you with a way to communicate. Whether that be a device or a simple SIM card. Why not try it out by sending a public message. Of course, you could also be sending it by accident.


   3. Make peace, not war
While LA has become a hodgepodge of different times it has also become a hodgepodge of different areas as well. Exploring the downtown LA brings you to a section of Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately what was once a peaceful protest has grown into a fight between Mogul hordes and peace loving hippies who just want to protest. Local enforcement is, of course, trying to sort out this mess but it seems they might need a bit of outside help.


   4. What's this strange building?
The 'Hall of Justice' stands in a sorry state as nature is trying to overtake it. Vines are crawling up the walls and there is Dimetrodon sunbathing in the courtyard, or what's left of it. Inside, any technology seems to have been destroyed and there is no sign of life. Still, it is a ruin left to be explored and the local archaeological society is willing to pay good money for relics from inside. Be warned that there may still be some rather nasty traps active inside and around the hall. If you happen to be a from the DC world you might see a few familiar faces among the broken statues that once adorned this building.


   5. Let’s dance
The Verdant. A rousing nightclub in 'bad neighborhood' of what was once Starling City circa 2013. There seems to be a wide variety of patrons here tonight, anything from Greek Scholars to some Greasers. What a great place to grab something to drink or maybe cause a little trouble.


   6. Dressing in style
Perhaps you arrived in less than ideal clothing. You may have arrived in no clothing at all. It might just be about time to look through some clothing stores and find what is right for you. Of course, it’s never that easy though. There are pickpockets and thieves all over the streets. You may just become their next victim.

   7. Home for the Holidays
Little old London town is high in festivities right now. It's Christmas and the area surrounding Big Ben is snowy, though it's a bit melty due to the climate in LA. Festive decor and foods for sale circa 1885 in england and emotions are cheery and positive. Take a horse and buggy or attend a christmas party.

Just hope the mongols don't show up. Or Amazons.

   8. Wild Card. Go nuts.

A slight smirk at the very idea of time being broken. He knew a few people who could cause something like that, but which of them was the cause this time? It couldn't be Barry, that's for sure. "A time 'thingy'? And how did that happen, exactly?"

[orions_shadow]

"I'm not a scientist." Shadow replies, creasing his nose at the light mockery at his failure to express what was happening. "I know about other universes than I do about time travel and I know more about magic than either of those." Time travel in his world didn't necessarily work this way. Not using the stones of ice and fire anyway. You could travel on your own timeline, or even go to a place like Cimerora in Ancient Rome via magic, but to his knowledge, nothing like this. "And this world isn't mine so I can't tell you much."

[vivifier]

He'll get back to the whole magic and other universes thing in a moment. "If this isn't your world, why are you even here?"

[orions_shadow]

"Someone said something about dimensional bleed." The boy replies. "I was in transit to another dimension myself when this happened."

[vivifier]

"They didn't say what caused it?"

[orions_shadow]

The boy shakes his head. "Nope. You could ask. I don't think it matters as much for me if I end up stuck in this universe." Not that he'd mind too much.

[vivifier]

"Doesn't it?" A perplexing idea. "Why is that?"

[orions_shadow]

"It'd probably be better than my world. Primal Earth. Sure, maybe I wouldn't get to hunt down the Warriors or Freakshow anymore, but at hey, I can get along here." And he'd be away from Noir too.

[vivifier]

Staring, for a long moment. "You realize I don't know who any of those people are, don't you?"

[orions_shadow]

"Yeah but who cares? They're a buncha losers anyway." He snerks. "I beat em up all the time and steal their weapons." Kinda like a trophy, he even puffs out his chest a little, posturing a bit. "So, then, what's your story then?"

[vivifier]

That certainly gets his attention, doesn't it? "Weapons? What kind of weapons are we talking about?" At the question, he shrugs. "Nothing special. Just a speedster."

Sure. Right.

[orions_shadow]

"Sec." He leaped down and into the shadow of the awning, then pulls out a large barrel of Kitanas, broad swords, maces, and a few battle axes. "Can you believe that half these morons use half tang swords?" He draws out a blade with the handle snapped off. "Probably paid less than fifty bucks for this piece of shit." He might be obsessed with forge youtube shows, okay?

[vivifier]

Savitar watches this with an air of amused detachment. He's absolutely positive now that this is some sort of trap. Or hallucination. Or something. "Yeah. How dare they."

[orions_shadow]

What, not impressed by this? Shadow chuffs and sends his collection back into the shadow where he kept them. "If you're gonna have a weapon atleast have the dignity to have a decent one." He says with a shrug. "You asked." Of course there was some tech in there too but it was all on the bottom as well as various other stuff he'd kept from his adventures in the past year or so.

"So I did." He crossed his arms, looking around. "So how do I get out of this place?"

[orions_shadow]

"Don't think there is a way, yet. I've used all my tricks for getting around. My jump card to Pocket D doesn't work anymore and neither does the way to get to Ouroboros. We're kinda stuck here." He explains, before standing fully, still hunching a bit.

[vivifier]

"So it is a trap, then." But who is it a trap for, exactly? And who else got caught up in the afterburn?

[orions_shadow]

"A trap for you? And why would I be here?" That doesn't make any sense unless they were collecting people or something. "Weird."

[vivifier]

"Not necessarily me. It could be for you."

[orions_shadow]

"Hm, doesn't seem like something any of the people interested in me would do. Plus all these people I've never even heard of?" He shakes his head. "Dimensional bleed seems more likely. This is a big cosmic time event so no real surprise that it's dragging people in from other realities!"

[vivifier]

"Crisis on infinite earths, then?" He smirks, as if it's a joke. If it is, only he gets it.

[orions_shadow]

"Maybe. Could be. Can't say, not a scientist." Shad says, shaking his head. "I guess I'll show you around, if you want." Got nothin' better to do.

[vivifier]

"Fine. Lead the way."

[orions_shadow]

Onward he leads, close to the Waverider, to the apartments as well. He takes up a seat ontop of some rubble and looks on at the people down by the ship. "Watch out for dinosaurs, and other vicious little monsters." He snerks, because technically he counts as one.

"Yeah, don't worry. I'm fast." Ha ha? He glances down at the ship, raising a eyebrow. "Is that the Waverider?"
