Test Drive

Welcome to the test drive for Time Trapped. This is an open forum to test out your characters to see how they would fit into the game and if you might be interested in apping them here. We want you to feel comfortable and, of course, test drive threads can be used as samples on your application to join.

First, a few housekeeping things before we start:

∞Apps will be open as of Dec 10th at 12 AM, and will reopen on the first of every month. They will remain open until the 10th of each month before closing.

∞Both first and third person prompts are allowed in the test drive. We encourage both. We also encourage making multiple prompt options in your post.

∞Finally, you will be allowed to transfer your test drive threads over into the game canon should you apply and be accepted.

∞If you have any other questions please feel free to refer to the FAQ or contact the mods directly.

Prompts

1. Acclimating to the environment
While Gideon has a part of the area sectioned off for now based on her calculations of where the time anomalies are going to occur the area is still large and confusing. It’s easy for a person to get lost or overwhelmed in this big mish-mosh of a world. Perhaps you are lost, or maybe you are just settling in.

2. Reach out and touch someone
Gideon has been kind enough to provide you with a way to communicate. Whether that be a device or a simple SIM card. Why not try it out by sending a public message. Of course, you could also be sending it by accident.

3. Make peace, not war
While LA has become a hodgepodge of different times it has also become a hodgepodge of different areas as well. Exploring the downtown LA brings you to a section of Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately what was once a peaceful protest has grown into a fight between Mogul hordes and peace loving hippies who just want to protest. Local enforcement is, of course, trying to sort out this mess but it seems they might need a bit of outside help.

4. What's this strange building?
The 'Hall of Justice' stands in a sorry state as nature is trying to overtake it. Vines are crawling up the walls and there is Dimetrodon sunbathing in the courtyard, or what's left of it. Inside, any technology seems to have been destroyed and there is no sign of life. Still, it is a ruin left to be explored and the local archaeological society is willing to pay good money for relics from inside. Be warned that there may still be some rather nasty traps active inside and around the hall. If you happen to be a from the DC world you might see a few familiar faces among the broken statues that once adorned this building.

5. Let’s dance
The Verdant. A rousing nightclub in 'bad neighborhood' of what was once Starling City circa 2013. There seems to be a wide variety of patrons here tonight, anything from Greek Scholars to some Greasers. What a great place to grab something to drink or maybe cause a little trouble.

6. Dressing in style
Perhaps you arrived in less than ideal clothing. You may have arrived in no clothing at all. It might just be about time to look through some clothing stores and find what is right for you. Of course, it’s never that easy though. There are pickpockets and thieves all over the streets. You may just become their next victim.

7. Home for the Holidays
Little old London town is high in festivities right now. It's Christmas and the area surrounding Big Ben is snowy, though it's a bit melty due to the climate in LA. Festive decor and foods for sale circa 1885 in england and emotions are cheery and positive. Take a horse and buggy or attend a christmas party.

Just hope the mongols don't show up. Or Amazons.

Kristen found herself not in the GCPD bullpen but in a crumpled heap outside what looked like a Starbucks or was it something else? "Ok, something is so up." she quickly realized. The voice did not help matters along with a badly torn skirt and broken glasses. "Time to seek aid." as she fished her phone from her pocket.

Does the name Gotham City ring bells? I'm looking for Comissior Sarah Essen, Detectives James Gordon or Harvey Bullock, Doctor Leslie Thompkins or Edward Nygma.

And I'm blind thanks to broken glasses so help?

Heard but never been I'm afraid. If you can give me a few large blobby landmarks I can probably find you.

I smell coffee, least I think its coffee. I'm also seeing a really blurry tower and what looks like people in hippie wear? I'm the redhead in the torn pencil skirt and twin set.

"Smart." She remembers those days fondly. Hiding in the IT department with her pens and software. Some days she really misses that, other days she's perfectly fine with where her life has gone. "Do you see ... a giant crashed ship blur anywhere?"

"Not far from here, massive crashed blur. Looks like something out of a movie with bad reception?" since Kristen has something to focus on she's sounding a lot calmer but not by much. "Last thing I remember was the squadroom being shot up by the Manaix, I picked the worst night to work late."

"Well, on the plus side you're here and not, well, there. And that would be the ship I was hoping you saw. I can figure out where you are from that." She lets a nervous laugh go. She's probably more comfortable in this place then this poor girl and she needs to make sure that she's calm and safe. "Surprisingly this isn't the weirdest thing that could happen. If that helps at all."

"I'll be the redhead." Kristen was trying to somehow stay calm and having something to focus on was helping. Her newfound insane memory however was not helping, she was quickly becoming a sponge for every bit of information around her from signs to blurry objects. "Weird is pretty relative by now, Gotham has more than its share. Our forensics tech has a thing for riddles and one of the mob bosses walks like a penguin for one."

"I'm not sure if that sounds better or worse then Star City." SHe sounds like she's trying not to laugh, but only a little. Comparing beloved but horrible cities seem like a good bonding experience though. "I sware trying to destroy the city has become an annual thing these days for bad guys."

"Let me guess, annual or almost annual invasion of something crazy?" Kristen asked. "We just have an insane asylum that seems to be one of the big sources of trouble at least over the last few months." she explained.

"We've got Iron Heights prison. Complete with it's own meta wing for people with, basically superpowers. We should write a guidebook. 'Top places to go if you enjoy comic books' or something like that." She catches a sight of red hair. "Ooh! I think I see you!"

Kristen had slipped off part of her twin set as a beacon so there was a blob of pink waving around the same time. "Rumors were flying around GCPD for ages but nobody could confirm anything outside of off the record rumors and the like."

"About metas on Gotham?" She taps the girl on the shoulder, hoping it really was the person she's talking to.

"Metas in general, people hear things you know." Kristen gracefully explained in spite of the panic she was in. "And any sign of broken glasses?"

"None. And metas are totally real. Every so often we someone shows up in Star City with meta powers, but mostly they stay in Central City. Which is fine by us. The Flash is way more equipped to handle them than anyone in Star."

Huh, wrong girl. She moves to the next redhead she can find and taps her.

Uh, hi there. Did you get your glasses situation under control?

Heard of Gotham but I'm not exactly a local. None of those names ring a bell.

Work in progress on the glasses but am at least off the streets?

Figured as much.

Nearsighted but beyond that its a pretty routine prescription, they broken when I landed.

Then those adjustable glasses that they make should probably be the easiest short term solution. I'll see if I can hunt them down.
