Test Drive

Welcome to the test drive for Time Trapped. This is an open forum to test out your characters to see how they would fit into the game and if you might be interested in apping them here. We want you to feel comfortable and, of course, test drive threads can be used as samples on your application to join.

First, a few housekeeping things before we start:

  ∞Apps will be open as of Dec 10th at 12 AM, and will reopen on the first of every month. They will remain open until the 10th of each month before closing.

  ∞Both first and third person prompts are allowed in the test drive. We encourage both. We also encourage making multiple prompt options in your post.

  ∞Finally, you will be allowed to transfer your test drive threads over into the game canon should you apply and be accepted.

  ∞If you have any other questions please feel free to refer to the FAQ or contact the mods directly.

   1. Acclimating to the environment
While Gideon has a part of the area sectioned off for now based on her calculations of where the time anomalies are going to occur the area is still large and confusing. It’s easy for a person to get lost or overwhelmed in this big mish-mosh of a world. Perhaps you are lost, or maybe you are just settling in.


   2. Reach out and touch someone
Gideon has been kind enough to provide you with a way to communicate. Whether that be a device or a simple SIM card. Why not try it out by sending a public message. Of course, you could also be sending it by accident.


   3. Make peace, not war
While LA has become a hodgepodge of different times it has also become a hodgepodge of different areas as well. Exploring the downtown LA brings you to a section of Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately what was once a peaceful protest has grown into a fight between Mogul hordes and peace loving hippies who just want to protest. Local enforcement is, of course, trying to sort out this mess but it seems they might need a bit of outside help.


   4. What's this strange building?
The 'Hall of Justice' stands in a sorry state as nature is trying to overtake it. Vines are crawling up the walls and there is Dimetrodon sunbathing in the courtyard, or what's left of it. Inside, any technology seems to have been destroyed and there is no sign of life. Still, it is a ruin left to be explored and the local archaeological society is willing to pay good money for relics from inside. Be warned that there may still be some rather nasty traps active inside and around the hall. If you happen to be a from the DC world you might see a few familiar faces among the broken statues that once adorned this building.


   5. Let’s dance
The Verdant. A rousing nightclub in 'bad neighborhood' of what was once Starling City circa 2013. There seems to be a wide variety of patrons here tonight, anything from Greek Scholars to some Greasers. What a great place to grab something to drink or maybe cause a little trouble.


   6. Dressing in style
Perhaps you arrived in less than ideal clothing. You may have arrived in no clothing at all. It might just be about time to look through some clothing stores and find what is right for you. Of course, it’s never that easy though. There are pickpockets and thieves all over the streets. You may just become their next victim.

   7. Home for the Holidays
Little old London town is high in festivities right now. It's Christmas and the area surrounding Big Ben is snowy, though it's a bit melty due to the climate in LA. Festive decor and foods for sale circa 1885 in england and emotions are cheery and positive. Take a horse and buggy or attend a christmas party.

Just hope the mongols don't show up. Or Amazons.

D'you think that maybe some of the time travel incidents like Flashpoint might have had some effect on what's happened here?

I think it would be stupid to rule out. The temporal ripples, I mean, they stunk, but didn't seem to be as far reaching as they should have been.

Sorry, but surviving a landscape like this might lose a heel or two on those nice shoes. The solders march by as they hide behind a dumpster in the alley. "How'd you even get here on your ow--Oh. Right. That's your base, right?" Turning to look at her, he tilts his head. "I dunno, green doesn't look like your color."

Yeah. [He pauses on that, thinking about it.]

How many times has a speedster changed the past?

More concerned about you feeling hazy actually. [He's the size of an action figure, and not on purpose. He can attest that feeling hazy may be a possible red flag.]

She's done a lot of running in heels. Like, you have no idea how much running in heels she's had to do over the past six years. She'll be fine, and so will her shoes. SHe watches as they march by, making a detailed assessment in case they come back.

"It's not, I mean, I'm not. But I look fine in green." She doesn't really want to go around revealing secrets to people she's just met. Even if it might not technically matter.

Think about that Ray. Unless they told us we wouldn't know. So as far as I know just the once.

Yeah, but... Barry specifically. He knew how to do it before he created flash point which means he had to have done it before.

Then Wally...

And then all the stuff Bart told me, which doesn't necessarily mean anything regarding our universe but it seems like it's happened a lot.

He seems to think about it, then chuffs a little, shaking his head. "If you say so." Anyway, he's gotta figure out how to get her somewhere safe. "Where are we going now?" There's no way in hell he's just gonna leave her alone now, even though he totally could. She wasn't treating him poorly which allowed him to accept her as worthy of his help.

Which means this could be in direct correlation to that. Which also makes me wonder if anything that happens here has any bearing on the other realities.

Or, she's a masochist. Either way, John's judging. it's a thing John does.

John smirked at her and waggled his fingers. "If is the big question always. Only one way to find out. Up for some explorations?" He waggled his eyebrows at her, making it almost seem a dirty word even as he hauls himself up, then offers her his hand.

Time could be unraveling, pretty much the worst case scenario.

Gonna try to be more optimistic than that.

[Also Gideon has been quietly keeping tabs and would get aid if things got any worse. But so far so good so she was letting the humans help for now.]

Just hazy, last thing I remember was Ra's Al Ghul stabbing me. Came to here covered in blood but not bleeding. [Mostly since she was snagged just in time it seems.]

[Okay, he might still insist on Caitlin look at her considering that this happened three years ago. Huh.]

John can judge all he wants, Felicity probably would too if it was a year or two ago. Now, however, there were no doubts in her mind about it. Married to the man or not, she knows she wants to be with him for the rest of her life.

The comment causes a smile to spread across her face. She'd almost forgotten that there were people who didn't speak her language here. SHe actually doesn't notice at first how he'd turned the whole thing into a dirty comment and pushes herself off to a standing position. "Isn't that just what I said?"

Here's the thing about that. If time were unraveling it would make sense for all of you to be here and from the right time, but why me and the others?

It makes just as much sense as any one of us being from another time. The fourth dimension, which governs time? It's like a ribbon with one end being your birth and one end being your death and every other moment inbetween.

Which means that's the dimension which is under flux right now and it's distorting the space around us.

As for why you're here? Any one we know, it makes sense, since you all have connections to someone aboard the wave rider.

Not sure about Bart or the other kid.

Which is where the questions lie, because there's also Kristen who's from Gotham and as far as I know none of us have been there either.

Also, are you actually explaining a temporal theory to me or have you guys established this?

More like voicing my thoughts to segue into what Thea told me, which was that she was stabbed by Ra's, remembers being stabbed, but somehow arrived fully healed. Or somehow chronologically reversed the stab wound while still having memory of it.

[Ray looks apologetic about explaining it to her, but there is a reason he needs the coffee and it's catching up to him.

His brows knit as he ponders this thought further and glances outside. Huh.]

There's a pretty good chance everything here is on it's own timeline and we could find ourselves being thrown further or backwards on our timelines independent of anything else.

[This.. is not something Oliver is used to. At least not where or more to the point when he's from.
But Thea is still his sister and he loves her.

Oliver wraps her in his arms, kissing her hair.] Together.

The almost-warning in Sara's voice has him barely checking a glare in her direction. He may be outside of his own time but there is only so long he's going to be okay with taking things on faith. He's earned some answers.

Then John is pouring drinks and he picks one up. "I don't care who tells them at this point. As long as they're told."

A vaguely fond look and Oliver can't stop himself this time, reaching out to squeeze her arm fondly. Maybe even to reassure himself that yes, she really is there.

She's changed.
There's a certainty to her, a confidence.
A light. But then Oliver's always seen that light in her, even when she couldn't.

"I'll check in if I see anyone else."

[It's a good ten minutes before he replies. But running from an angry horde of Mongols and ducking a dinosaur or two will do that.

It also gives Sara more than enough time to brief Felicity on Oliver and where, or more to the point, when, he is from. He's a little out of breath, a little more rumpled but still very much alive.] Ok. I see the tower. I'll be there in about a minute.
