Test Drive

Welcome to the test drive for Time Trapped. This is an open forum to test out your characters to see how they would fit into the game and if you might be interested in apping them here. We want you to feel comfortable and, of course, test drive threads can be used as samples on your application to join.

First, a few housekeeping things before we start:

  ∞Apps will be open as of Dec 10th at 12 AM, and will reopen on the first of every month. They will remain open until the 10th of each month before closing.

  ∞Both first and third person prompts are allowed in the test drive. We encourage both. We also encourage making multiple prompt options in your post.

  ∞Finally, you will be allowed to transfer your test drive threads over into the game canon should you apply and be accepted.

  ∞If you have any other questions please feel free to refer to the FAQ or contact the mods directly.

Prompts

   1. Acclimating to the environment
While Gideon has a part of the area sectioned off for now based on her calculations of where the time anomalies are going to occur the area is still large and confusing. It’s easy for a person to get lost or overwhelmed in this big mish-mosh of a world. Perhaps you are lost, or maybe you are just settling in.


   2. Reach out and touch someone
Gideon has been kind enough to provide you with a way to communicate. Whether that be a device or a simple SIM card. Why not try it out by sending a public message. Of course, you could also be sending it by accident.


   3. Make peace, not war
While LA has become a hodgepodge of different times it has also become a hodgepodge of different areas as well. Exploring the downtown LA brings you to a section of Greenwich Village in New York. Unfortunately what was once a peaceful protest has grown into a fight between Mogul hordes and peace loving hippies who just want to protest. Local enforcement is, of course, trying to sort out this mess but it seems they might need a bit of outside help.


   4. What's this strange building?
The 'Hall of Justice' stands in a sorry state as nature is trying to overtake it. Vines are crawling up the walls and there is Dimetrodon sunbathing in the courtyard, or what's left of it. Inside, any technology seems to have been destroyed and there is no sign of life. Still, it is a ruin left to be explored and the local archaeological society is willing to pay good money for relics from inside. Be warned that there may still be some rather nasty traps active inside and around the hall. If you happen to be a from the DC world you might see a few familiar faces among the broken statues that once adorned this building.


   5. Let’s dance
The Verdant. A rousing nightclub in 'bad neighborhood' of what was once Starling City circa 2013. There seems to be a wide variety of patrons here tonight, anything from Greek Scholars to some Greasers. What a great place to grab something to drink or maybe cause a little trouble.


   6. Dressing in style
Perhaps you arrived in less than ideal clothing. You may have arrived in no clothing at all. It might just be about time to look through some clothing stores and find what is right for you. Of course, it’s never that easy though. There are pickpockets and thieves all over the streets. You may just become their next victim.

   7. Home for the Holidays
Little old London town is high in festivities right now. It's Christmas and the area surrounding Big Ben is snowy, though it's a bit melty due to the climate in LA. Festive decor and foods for sale circa 1885 in england and emotions are cheery and positive. Take a horse and buggy or attend a christmas party.

Just hope the mongols don't show up. Or Amazons.

   8. Wild Card. Go nuts.

Last I checked, mine did. I can look at everyone else's though. I wanted to put trackers in them anyway.

Felicity shakes her head, smiling slightly. She's pretty sure there is any number of people who would voluntarily marry Oliver. He's a good person with good qualities. And nice abs. Very, very nice abs. Still, she could entirely see why John would think that way. He was also frustrating and a handful.

The reply to her question is actually reassuring - or more the tone is. "Then I can give you the general run down. All time and space seem to be converging here and it's dragging us into it. For now, I think it's probably a good idea to figure out a way to track everyone."

[ Sara might not be a tech wiz like Ray, or Felecity, or Caitlin, or Cisco, or Jax. But she does have the run of a timeship from beyond 2160, and it does lend itself to a bit a learning curve. There's a bit of typing, and scrolling, and trying things, before suddenly it shifts, with a note that reads { Privacy Mode Activated } ]

I think that should do it.

on the magnitude of kidnapping people or reordering time. ]

So, what do we want to do about Oliver?

[Panic mode activated. She's always a bit overprotective when it comes to Oliver.]

What's wrong with Oliver? Is he okay? I mean, I just talked to him and he seemed fine.

He's scouting to the north. But. Felicity.

[ She'd assumed. After what she said about Thea. And Palmer Tech.
About the wave of things from 2014 and 15. And ... because it's Felicity. ]

[Scouting to the north, that makes sense. Of course, he'd get right to work like the rest of them. The only one she'd met out of time was Thea though, so she hadn't expected anyone else to be that way. Or at least not Oliver.]

Not much yet, but if he's scouting it makes sense.

[ The look Sara Lance gives the sky, and then her own ship, is not anywhere near the ballpark of kind. Whoever the hell was behind this was going to have a lot to answer for after today. But Sara doesn't shirk. She started this, even if she assumed wrong that Felicity had to have known, she has to say it now. She hopes wherever she is at that place under the Eiffel Tower, that Felicity is sitting. ] It's still Oliver, but he's not our Oliver.

[ Except he is. Just like the Oliver from 2046 was still hers and theirs, too.
But. Just. The one from 2046. Too. It's complicated. Time was. This was going to be. ]

At least not the one from our home, our time. Yours. Or even this place's. In 2017. [ It got a lot more tricky to really pick and parcel where exactly the time The Legends belonged to, given most of their time was in other times or in the Temporal Zone. She's looking hard at the ship, but she says it. ]

The Oliver out here: he's from October 2015.


[ To be clear. ] He thinks I died a few days ago.

[She shakes her head in agreement. Even an evil Oliver has some similarities to her Oliver.]

With the way things were, I don't think he would have thought of that. Zoom might have though.

Isn't that the Reverse Flash, but somehow with Harrison Well's face again but also from another dimension?

This whole situation with Thawne is getting complicated.

Both eyebrows have raised now. "That takes some talent, though I imagine he must be either a nuisance to work with, or he's the funniest guy in the room. Or something between the two.

He looks her up and down again. "I'm guessing you're in academia?"

[There is so, so much for her to digest in that. She's not sure if it's worse then Thea or better. No, no it's totally worse. She just, in a way lost the man she loves, but at the same time it's still exactly the man she loves, has loved for so long. The silence stretches on as she processes this. Keeping him in the dark won't work and it won't be useful for anyone. He needs to be at his 100% here. She knows that and being kept in the dark will keep him from that. Besides, She didn't want any secrets between them. Not anymore, not with what it had cost and almost cost them.] We should tell him everything.

John just shook his head, listening.

"Good luck on that. If this place is that bad, likely there is a distortion field." Yeah, he really did know what he was saying. "UNless we could harness chronotons. Maybe magically... ugh. I hate time travel."

[A pause.]

Let me rephrase that. The situation with Thawne is stupidly ridiculous.

[Another pause, as he looks away for a moment as something clicks for him.]

Bart mentioned something about being 'temporally resistant.'

Then those adjustable glasses that they make should probably be the easiest short term solution. I'll see if I can hunt them down.

All things she knows better than most; and yet she still married him. What can she say, she loves the man beyond reason and has complete faith in their love for one another.

She's not entirely certain she agrees with his theory, but it's something that needs to be considered. Which means that the ability to actually harness chronotons has to be established. Magic, however, was not her department (even if it almost could have been). John, on the other hand, had more then enough knowledge to know if it was feasible.

"The key word there is 'if'." She presses her lips together, a small crinkle forming between her brows as she thinks.

[She raises a brow at his comment. It makes sense with everything she's heard about the guy.]

Thawn? Yeah, with everything he's been through that actually tracks. He's like a temporal cockroach. Though, I think it's possible that they're more like temporal copies that he's left throughout time.

She nods, heading for it. She really needs to get out of there before the memories overwhelm her.

"So you mean Martin Stein?" That's actually good. Martin is one of the best people she knows.

"Does he have white hair and talked like he did voiced over nature documentaries?" The youngster asked as he pushes open the door and moves outside. Once out side he looks like he's focusing, sniffing at the air. Once she's out he grabs her hand and starts moving swiftly down the street. There are some nasty looking red coats marching down the street, and they narrowly make it to cover before they catch up to them.

"You could ..." She doesn't get the rest of it out before he's grabbing and pulling her along. The tug pulls her off balance and she has to stumble to keep up with him.
